23 Mar Asseco, in cooperation with the National Cloud, provides an educational platform for universities free of charge
Continuity of the educational process in a situation where the date of resuming classes is unknown is the biggest challenge for Polish universities today. Asseco Data Systems, in cooperation with the National Cloud operator, provides an educational platform for universities free of charge under the “Partnership for Universities” program.
The universities that will join the program will receive a free 6-month access to the Asseco Educational Platform – a comprehensive IT platform enabling implementation of any curriculum in a remote mode. Asseco Data Systems created it on the basis of many years of experience in cooperation with Polish universities.
“Some universities have experience in conducting classes using the e-learning method, but until now they have only been a complementary form of didactics and were usually limited to providing materials in various forms. The efficiency of the IT infrastructure of most Polish universities does not allow all educational programs to be efficiently transferred to the online world, especially lectures and exercises conducted by the teaching staff in a synchronous form. Partnership for the University is both a comprehensive substantive tool and technological security” – said Daniel Lala, Vice President of Asseco Data Systems, responsible for the Division of Solutions for Business and Education.
The tool is made available using the cloud infrastructure of the National Cloud Operator. The platform uses Google Cloud technology and is integrated with Google communication tools, in cooperation with the Polish branch of the company. This ensures technological support and security of processed data.
“Cloud is a technology that provides speed, scalability and security of solutions embedded in it. These features are particularly important when you need to respond flexibly to significantly increased demands for processing capacity and advanced IT services. The tool we have jointly developed is a quick and effective response to an unexpected crisis situation. At the same time, it has all the advantages to allow universities to build target models for remote learning based on it. Before our eyes, the cloud is becoming an everyday reality, and using it is a criterion of maturity and responsibility of the institution” – said Dariusz Śliwowski, Vice-President of the National Cloud Operator.
The Asseco Educational Platform enables the implementation of various forms of remote education, conducting classes with the use of voice and video connection, conducting exams, as well as creating and sharing educational materials. It ensures constant contact between lecturers and students, including sending and checking homework, monitoring their activity and learning progress. The system is available from the web browser.
The Asseco Educational Platform is recommended by the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (CRASP) and has been included in the list of remote learning tools published by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education: https://www.gov.pl/web/nauka/ksztalcenie-na-odleglosc
