Asseco Data Systems has modernized the Underground Tourist Route located in the historic corridors of Rzeszów. As part of the "Rzeszów Cellars - an Interactive Cultural Institution" project, a unique multimedia exhibition was created. The value of the investment amounted to over PLN 23 million, including the part implemented under the EU project which exceeded PLN 18.7 million. The exhibition was opened to the public on January 3, 2022.

Located under the Market Square in Rzeszów, the Underground Tourist Route is situated on three floors. It consists of 40 chambers and 25 cellars, connected by 15 corridors with a total length of almost 500 metres. In 2019, Asseco Data Systems signed an agreement with the Municipality of Rzeszów to implement the project "Rzeszów Cellars - an Interactive Cultural Institution". The underground facility has been upgraded and equipped with equipment that will allow visitors to travel back in time.

Visitors to the Rzeszów Cellars will be transported to an interactive world that will introduce them to the history of Rzeszów. There are two sightseeing paths to choose from - Interactive Legend - participants will form a team and by solving tasks they will earn points on their way to a prize, and Images of History - materials presented will supplement the words of the guide. "Rzeszów Cellars" is a space that allows organizing cultural and entertainment events, presentations, exhibitions, concerts, as well as learning and experiencing new technologies or using educational activities offered by virtual lab. Due to its complexity, the implementation process was quite a challenge. A particularly difficult issue was to introduce modern technologies and all installations into the historic environment in a manner that would allow preservation of the unique character of the building, emphasizes Wiktoria Wnók, Project Manager, Asseco Data Systems.

The entrance hall has been arranged as an Entrance Zone - a multifunctional space, which will enable its multiple use. In the space separated by a mobile wall there is a projection room with a large LED screen and elements of 5d cinema. After folding the wall and dismantling the mobile armchairs, the space becomes suitable for concerts or conferences. During these events a video wall and modular, mobile stage, lighting and sound system can be used. The lobby space is accessible for disabled people. In dedicated stands it is possible to take a virtual tour on a monitor screen, using VR goggles or an audio guide.

In 2016, as part of the civic budget, I submitted the idea of enriching the underground route with interactive solutions that would make visiting more attractive and facilitate learning about the history of Rzeszów. I am very happy that after 5 years, this project is coming to such a spectacular end, said Konrad Fijołek, Mayor of Rzeszów.

As part of the Interactive Institution, the Cultural Square, located on the Rzeszów Market Square, near the entrance to the cellars and the Town Hall, has been arranged. It is a place of cultural events, which, thanks to equipping it with, among others, led flooring, modular furniture and an interactive well with light and sound effects, has gained a new character and become a place of rest for the whole family. The "Rzeszów Cellars" exhibition space was equipped with 121 monitors, 42 projectors, 91 computers, 6 holographic projections, LED floor and large format LED monitor. The project was co-financed by the European Union under Measure 8.1 Protection of Cultural Heritage and Development of Cultural Resources, Operational Program Infrastructure and Environment 2014-2020.Asseco Data Systems was responsible for the supply of technical equipment, hardware, multimedia and stage equipment for the creation of the multimedia exhibition. The facility was equipped with an IT network and sound system necessary for the operation of the exhibition. In order to ensure security, access control system, fire alarm system and video surveillance system (CCTV) were installed. The guides were equipped with wireless communication system. An important element of the project was also development of documentation and execution of construction works necessary for the realization of multimedia expositions, among others, electrical and teletechnical installations.
