PEWIK GDYNIA customers become the first in Poland to pay water and sewage bills via mObywatel App
May 6, 2026

In response to residents’ expectations and as part of ongoing efforts to simplify and automate payment processes, PEWIK GDYNIA Ltd., together with Asseco Data Systems and the Ministry of Digital Affairs of Poland, has introduced new option to pay water supply and sewage bills through the mObywatel application. PEWIK GDYNIA customers are the first in Poland to benefit from the new functionality.
The Water Supply and Sewerage Company in Gdynia is the first utility company in Poland’s water and sewage sector to offer private customers the ability to pay their bills via the mObywatel app. Until now, this functionality had been used primarily by city and municipal offices. The new solution provides an alternative to payments made through the e-Customer Service Office (e-BOK) or traditional bank transfers based on paper invoices delivered by mail.
“The mObywatel application is widely used and is becoming the primary tool for handling administrative matters in Poland. Previously, residents could use it to pay property taxes or municipal waste management fees. In the centennial year of Gdynia — one of our shareholders — we are particularly focused on promoting modern solutions that make everyday life easier for the residents. Thanks to our cooperation with Asseco and the Ministry of Digital Affairs of Poland, customers can now also use the app to pay for water consumption and sewage” - said Jacek Kieloch, President of the Management Board of PEWIK GDYNIA Ltd.
“The implementation of this new feature in the mObywatel application not only significantly simplifies the payment process, but will soon also accelerate payment posting within a unified ecosystem integrated with the e-BOK platform and the billing system both provided by Asseco Data Systems. The centralization of municipal service payments is one of the key digitalization trends that greatly improves residents’ quality of life. We hope that similar implementations will soon be adopted by other municipal service providers” - said Robert Walicki, Director of Water and Heating Solutions at Asseco Data Systems.
Payments for water and sewage services in the mObywatel app can be made using a payment card or BLIK mobile payment system. To use the service, customers simply log in to the app, select the “Services” tab, and then choose “ePayments” in the “Fees and Taxes” section. Residents using this payment method incur no additional charges.
Currently, the new functionality is available to 33,500 customers holding individual contracts with PEWIK GDYNIA.
