Santander Bank Polska develops the Paperless ecosystem - a new stage in digitization of business processes
February 9, 2026

Santander Bank Polska, in cooperation with Asseco Data Systems, has introduced two new Paperless services: a one-time qualified signature for corporate customers (made available to customers also by Santander Leasing) and e-Delivery. The implemented solutions for customers streamline the digital signing and transmission of documents.
For many years, Santander Bank Polska has been consistently implementing its business process digitization strategy. Cooperation with Asseco Data Systems, a qualified trust service provider, has enabled the creation of a comprehensive environment for electronic signing and document circulation, which has streamlined the bank's internal processes.
The development of Paperless services, which facilitate the circulation of banking documents, is one example of how we are implementing the objectives of our strategy called "We help you achieve more" and one of its pillars, "Total Digitization." It is thanks to the intensive digitization of products, services, and processes that we are creating banking that responds to the actual needs of our customers. In our activities, we focus on building the best digital service channels for our customers and an effective, digitized work environment for our employees. For us, digitization is not just technology, it is the foundation of our competitive advantage in the market - said Michał Marszałek from Santander Bank Polska’s customer solutions team.
A new stage of transformation: Introducing a one-time qualified signature
The next step in the development of Paperless services at Santander Bank Polska Group is the implementation of a one-time qualified signature service for corporate customers. This signature has also been made available to customers by Santander Leasing. The solution is a natural complement to the long-term qualified signature model used so far. The bank is responding to the needs of those users who sign documents sporadically. A one-time qualified signature enables secure, remote signing of electronic documents with the same legal force as a handwritten signature, without the need for a long-term certificate.
Thanks to the one-time qualified signature, the signature can be obtained entirely online, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, through remote identity verification, including the use of the mObywatel application.
Qualified one-time signatures with the possibility of authorization by mObywatel are a step towards the future of digital identity. The implementation carried out with Santander Bank Polska will not only streamline daily processes, but also allow the organization to prepare for the implementation of the European Digital Identity Wallet. In the coming years, it will become the standard for all organizations in the EU digital ecosystem - said Artur Miękina, Director of Project Sales and e-Business Development, Trust Services Division, Asseco Data Systems.
Another new service: e-Delivery
Expanding the Paperless ecosystem, Santander Bank Polska has also implemented a qualified registered electronic delivery service, also in cooperation with Asseco. The solution enables sending and receiving electronic correspondence as part of the electronic delivery service. As a result, communication with customers, partners, and public institutions can be conducted entirely digitally, with proof of sending and receiving electronic correspondence.
Towards digitization
The continuous development of Paperless at Santander Bank Polska Group demonstrates the maturity of the organization's digitization strategy, which is based not on individual implementations, but on the systematic addition of new services that respond to changing regulations and customer needs.
